What is the Elbow Friend?

The Elbow Friend is a very simple padded cushion that attaches on top of your chair's existing armrest, an armrest replacement if you will. So you get a new armrest for your chair, at a fraction of the cost of an expensive chair with padded armrests, and at a fraction of the cost of other add-on armrests. Will it fit my chair?

The short answer is, most likely yes. The Elbow Friend has several options for attachment. The first is simply with adhesive hook & loop pads that you stick to your chair's armrest. This method will work for chairs that have a hard or relatively hard armrest surface. If your chair has softer armrests or minimal padding, you can use the straps. The standard straps that come with the Elbow Friend will fit armrests with diameters between 4" and 8". If your armrests are bigger than that, you can add our extension straps to your order which should allow you to strap around just about any size armrest. How can I pay?

No, you can pay by credit card. We use Paypal to handle our transactions for their security, but you don’t have to have a Paypal account, just a regular credit card will do.

How many colors does it come in?

Currently, we have 6 colors to choose from, however, we will continue to expand this selection over time, and also add some special limited time editions as well. If you have any suggestions, feel free to submit them.

What are they filled with?

The Elbow Friend is filled with special, rounded edge pellets. These pellets are non-toxic and washable. The Elbow Friend is very durable, however, don’t let young children or pets play with them, they are not toys, as they could rip open, and we know how kids like to put things in their mouths.

Is that packaging recyclable?

Yes. The retail packaging is made from recyclable plastic, and the mailer packaging is made of corrugated cardboard. Please recycle!

What does the retail packaging look like?

The retail store packaging for the Elbow Friend looks like this...

To reduce shipping costs and wasteful extra packaging, when you order online, your Elbow Friend will come in simple cardboard packaging, not in the retail store packaging.

What kind of warranty does the Elbow Friend have?

The Elbow Friend comes with a 30-day money back guarantee and a 1 year warranty. If you're not satisfied within the first 30 days, return it for a full refund. If through normal usage and wear your Elbow Friend becomes unusable within a year, you may return it to us for a free replacement.

Can I wash my Elbow Friend?

Absolutely! You can keep your Elbow Friend clean by unzipping it down the side, pulling the inner sock lining out, then hand washing the outer cover.

Can I use the Elbow Friend in my vehicle?

Yes! Now with our high-temperature adhesive backed hook & loop, you can easily attach your Elbow Friend to your vehicle's console or door armrest for those long trips or your daily commute! It's very important to make sure that you use the high temperature adhesive (the regular adhesive backed pads will turn sticky in the heat). You can order the high temperature adhesive here.

Once you have placed the adhesive strips, you must wait 24 hours for them to set before placing your Elbow Friend. Take extra care when placing adhesive strips to make sure you get them where you want them. We use an adhesive specially formulated for vinyl, and once set after 24 hours it will hold strong. If you need to remove the adhesive strips, please take extra care so as not to damage your upholstery. You may use Acetone, however, please check for color-fastness of your car’s interior before removing.

Sometimes my Elbow Friend bunches up on the end, is there anything I can do?

Yes, just remove the Elbow Friend from your chair, grab it about half way up with one hand, and tap it against the palm of your other hand to work the bead filling back into the end that has scrunched up. It should quickly fill back in the end and be back to its beautiful original self!
